In addition to being a banker and Internet pioneer, Gary Lewis Evans has been described as a futurist. He has studied engineering and worked as a financial analyst, portfolio manager, and programmer. After spending 25 years in both commercial and savings banking, and creating one of the first Internet banks in 1994. Gary is currently President of Bank of Internet, USA and managing partner of The Digital Financier(DFIN.COM. The Digital Financier is an Internet Portal for financial professionals http://WWW.DFIN.COM. Gary also founded and sold NewWave Management LLC an Internet development and marketing company. Gary's Internet development projects have been as diverse as Bank of The Internet (La Jolla Bank), SteakSales.com for Harris Ranch and the online marketing of stallion seasons for the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association.
Mr. Evans has co-authored the 1997 McGraw-Hill publication, THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS INTERNET SOURCEBOOK, as well as the accompanying web site WWW. DFIN.com and was a key participant in the educational video, THE ABC’S OF INTERNET BANKING, American Bankers Association (ABA), November 1995.
Another significant publication authored by Mr. Evans is the "Investment Management and Tactics" chapter for the 1989 book SAVINGS AND LOAN INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT published by Sheshunoff and Company.
Gary Evans has served on numerous corporate and bank boards on both coasts and has worked as president, CEO and corporate CFO of several successful financial institutions, most recently completing a successful seven year presidency of La Jolla Bank, fsb, in La Jolla, California.
Mr. Evans previously served as board chairman of the San Diego, Imperial Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross, Treasurer of the San Diego Mid-Cities Development Corporation, Vice President of the Southern California Web Programmers Forum, board member and former Treasurer of San Diego Hospice, and a Director of the Central Advisory Board and past chairman of the PR Committee of the San Diego County Salvation Army and board member, Treasurer San Diego Neighborhood Housing Services.
