Coopers & Lybrand LLP: The best part of this site is the library. Here will you find an eclectic array of up-to-date information on a variety of topics. Especially interesting was information on the year 2000 problem, international events, and venture capital. Deloitte & Touche LLP: This site is especially strong in resources for the financial services industry and taxation. Check out the "Publications" and "Recent Publications" feature to get a picture of the considerable resources available. http://www.dttus.com/    

Ernst & Young LLP: This site has a very valuable "Idea Factory" with a downloadable library of over 200 articles and papers covering such topics as economics, financial services, insurance, personal finance, performance management, and real estate. KPMG Peat Marwick LLP: This site is especially strong in financial industry publications that can be downloaded. The state of the banking and investment management industries provide valuable updates of current conditions. There are also valuable resources for real estate and insurance. Price Waterhouse LLP: This site primarily describes the services of the firm. It also includes brief summaries of recent publications covering the financial services business. http://www.pw.com/

Accountant's Home Page: This comprehensive Web resource provides hundreds of links organized in over 30 categories. The links are not profiled however. The site also provides links is other subjects such as banking, electronic commerce and taxes. http://www.computercpa.com   


American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA): This site of the professional accounting society is for accounting professionals and provides information on major accounting issues, courses for accountants, news and legislative issues of importance to the profession. http://www.aicpa.org    


Association of Certified Fraud Examiners: This site of Certified Fraud Examiners is for people employed both by government and the private sector who resolve allegations of fraud, as well as assist in its prevention and detection. This site provides membership information. http://www.acfe.org/    


Directory of CPA Firms: This is probably the most comprehensive site linking to over 1100 accounting firms worldwide and to accounting societies. The site also has a useful CPA News feature. http://www.cba.bgsu.edu/amis/cpafirms/index.html    


California CPA Education Foundation: This site of a professional CPA education organization provides access to hundreds of courses offered for training in accounting. You can learn about what's available in continuing education. http://www.calcpaed.org/   


Grant Thorton: This accounting firm's site provides posting from various newsletters, reports and research studies that Grant Thornton sponsors on the topics of assurance and governance, taxes and benefits, technology, industries and international. http://www.gt.com/gtonline/homeonl.html   


Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) / Government Accounting Standards Board: This site provides all proposed and historical rulings by FASB and GASB regarding how to handle specific financial transactions. http://status.shh.fi/raw/fasb/       


Institute of Management Accountants (IMA): This association provides members professional development opportunities through education, association with business professionals, and certification in management accounting and financial management. International Federation of Accountants (IFA): This global organization IFAC works to develop the profession and develop standards worldwide.
